【摘要】:1.1Theserequirementscoverprotectorsfordatacommunicationsandfire-alarmcircuits.1.2Ascoveredbytheserequirements,datacommunicationscircuitprotectorsandfire-alarmcircuitprotectorsconsistofsingle-andmultiple-pairair-gaparresters,gas-tubearresters,orsolid-statearresters,withorwithoutfusesorothervoltage-limitingdevices.Datacommunicationscircuitprotectorsandfire-alarmcircuitprotectorsareintendedtoprotectequipment,wiring,andpersonnelagainsttheeffectsofexcessivepotentialsandcurrentscausedbylightningincommunicationsalarm-initiatingoralarm-indicatingloopcircuits.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotcoverthefollowing:a)LightningprotectivedevicesfortheprotectionofprimarydistributionwiringsystemsandequipmentsuchasACbranchcircuitprotection.b)Antennadischargeunitsforradio-andtelevision-receivingappliances.c)Lightningconductorandairterminalsforconnectionoflightningrodsforbuildingprotection.d)Protectivedevicestobeusedontelephonelinesortelephonelinesconnectingtothetelecommunicationnetworks.1.4Aproductthatcontainsfeatures,characteristics,components,materials,orsystemsnewordifferentfromthoseinusewhenthestandardwasdeveloped,andthatinvolvesariskoffire,electricshock,orinjurytopersonsshallbeevaluatedusingtheappropriateadditionalcomponentandend-productrequirementsasdeterminednecessarytomaintainthelevelofsafetyfortheuseroftheproductasoriginallyanticipatedbytheintentofthisStandard.
