【摘要】:Thedeterminationofpilethicknessoflevelpileyarnfloorcoveringisusefulinqualityandcostcontrolduringthemanufactureofpileyarnfloorcovering.Theappearanceandperformancemaybeaffectedbychangesinpilethicknessofpileyarnfloorcoverings.Thistestmethodisconsideredsatisfactoryforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipmentsbecausecurrentestimatesofbetweenlaboratoryprecisionareacceptable,andthistestmethodiscommonlyusedinthetradeforacceptancetesting.Iftherearedifferencesofpracticalsignificancebetweenreportedtestresultsfortwolaboratories(ormore),comparativetestsshouldbeperformedtodetermineifthereisastatisticalbiasbetweenthem,usingcompetentstatisticalassistance.Asaminimum,usethesamplesforsuchcomparativeteststhatareashomogenousaspossible,drawnfromthesamelotofmaterialasthesamplesthatresultedindisparateresultsduringinitialtestingandrandomlyassignedinequalnumberstoeachlaboratory.Thetestresultsfromthelaboratoriesinvolvedshouldbecomparedusingastatisticaltestforunpaireddata,aprobabilitylevelchosenpriortothetestingseries.Ifabiasisfoundeitheritscausemustbefoundandcorrected,orfuturetestresultsforthatmaterialmustbeadjustedinconsiderationoftheknownbias.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofpilethicknessoffinishedlevelpileyarnfloorcoveringusingathicknessmeasuringinstrumenthavingastationarysurface(platen),acircularpressurefootunderspecifiedforce,andcapableofbeingmovedverticallyabovetheplaten.1.2Thistestmethodisapplicableonlytofinishedlevelloopandcutpileconstructionswithtuftheightslessthan6mm(0.25in.).Note1DeterminationofpilethicknessoffinishedlevelpileyarnfloorcoveringswaspreviouslycontainedwithinTestMethodsD418.Foruserconvenience,SubcommitteeD13.21subdividedTestMethodsD418intoseparatestandardsofwhichthistestmethodisone.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
