【摘要】:1.1Theserequirementscoveradultrecreationalwearabledeviceshavingatleastonebuoyancycompartmentthatreliesuponinflationbygasorothermediumtoprovideflotationtothewearer,forusebyindividualsatleast16yearsofageandweighing80pounds(36.3kg)ormore.1.2Theserequirementscoverdevicesintendedforgeneralboatingactivitieswhereimpactswiththewaterorotherobjects(i.e.thosewhichoccurduringwaterskiing,whitewaterpaddling,personalwatercraftuse,andparasailing)arenotlikely.1.2.1TheserequirementscoverrearmingkitsforthedevicescoveredbythisStandard.1.2.1addedApril17,19981.3Severallevelsofperformancearesetoutbythisstandardtomeettheneedsofvariousboatingactivities,locations,andwaterconditions.Theperformancelevelsaredesignatedbyperformancetype.1.4Aproductthatcontainsfeatures,characteristics,components,materials,orsystemsnewordifferentfromthosecoveredbytherequirementsinthisstandard,andthatinvolvesariskoffireorofelectricshockorinjurytopersonsshallbeevaluatedusingappropriateadditionalcomponentandend-productrequirementstomaintainthelevelofsafetyasoriginallyanticipatedbytheintentofthisstandard.Aproductwhosefeatures,characteristics,components,materials,orsystemsconflictwithspecificrequirementsorprovisionsofthisstandarddoesnotcomplywiththisstandard.Revisionofrequirementsshallbeproposedandadoptedinconformancewiththemethodsemployedfordevelopment,revision,andimplementationofthisstandard.1.4revisedAugust3,2000
