【摘要】:Becausesoilisanintegratorandareservoiroflong-livedradionuclides,andservesasanintermediaryinseveralpathwaysofpotentialexposuretohumans,knowledgeoftheconcentrationofstrontium-90insoilisessential.Asoilsamplingandanalysisprogramprovidesadirectmeansofdeterminingtheconcentrationanddistributionofradionuclidesinsoil.Asoilanalysisprogramhasthemostsignificanceforthepreoperationalmonitoringprogramtoestablishbaselineconcentrationspriortotheoperationofanuclearfacility.Soilanalysis,althoughusefulinspecialcasesinvolvingunexpectedreleases,maynotbeabletoassesssmallincrementalreleases.1.1Thistestmethodisapplicabletothedeterminationofstrontium-90insoilatlevelsofdetectiondependentoncounttime,samplesize,detectorefficiency,background,andrecovery.1.2Thistestmethodisdesignedfortheanalysisoftengramsofsoil,previouslycollectedandtreatedasdescribedinPracticesC998andC999.Thistestmethodmaynotbeabletocompletelydissolveallsoilmatrices.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
